Student Ministry at Oaks Parish exists to disciple middle and high school students in the way of Jesus. Students 5th-12th grade are invited to gather together for two monthly events — one revolving around discipleship in the Word and prayer, and the other an opportunity to fellowship and bond through a social outing.
Sunday Morning Student Discipleship
Meets the 1st Sunday of every month from 9:00-9:50 am in the library of Grout Elementary School.
This year our student ministry is utilizing a curriculum focused on a fundamental understanding of the gospel, theology, and relationship to the church.
Here is the outline for our current curriculum:
God the Father
God and Knowing God
Creation and Fall
Israel and Covenants
God the Son
Jesus the Prophet - Incarnation
Jesus the Priest - Humiliation & Crucifixion
Jesus the King - Resurrection & Ascension
God the Spirit
A New Heart - Union with Christ
A New Community - the Church & Mission
A New World - a New Heavens and a New Earth
To this end, we also encourage parents to consider walking their students through The New City Catechism (http://newcitycatechism.com/books/) as a complement to these lessons.
